Chevron CEO: cutting carbon will take a long time.

Chevron CEO John Watson had his hands full Wednesday at the oil company’s annual shareholders meeting in San Ramon.

As usual, he faced tough questioning over the company’s$19 billion pollution lawsuit in Ecuador. Some of the exchanges grew tense, and one of the speakers was ejected from the room. For a full account, check out my story here.

Chevron board gives itself a 25% raise

What would you do if you were in charge of your own pay?

We thought so! And that’s exactly what the Chevron Corp.  CVX +0.42% board of directors just did – they gave themselves a nice 25% pay raise.

Snark aside, the raise, disclosed Thursday in a regulatory filing, would be the board’s first since 2009. According to the company, that means they have not been keeping up with the competition.
